18th January 2011

A New Year!  And a new post along with it! Hallelujah!

I have actually sat down with everything laid out in front of me for this one, I have SO much to write about since the start of December. It has been an amazing end and start of a year. Absolutley incredible.

Lets start from December; such an eventful month, Everyone was getting so excited about going home or wherever else they were jetting off too on their travels. Me?  I was just extatic!  I couldnt wait to see my family,   I was counting the days off on a white board in the study room of our house!

Eventually the time came, and the last day of school arrived, And let me tell you something,   I have never seen so many people cram into one small bar, in one night.  IT WAS AWESOME!!  Dancing, singing, Playing pool,  coming out of the bar at midnight,  getting back into college....  and continuing the party there!   Even some of the teachers came with us!  :D

After waking up the next day, it was time to say goodbye to everyone, which, being exciting, as it was a reminder of how close I was to seeing my family, it was also very emotional, as I have been living with these people for 4 months, and have made friends that I know are certainly for life.

The next couple of days were fun, just relaxing and hanging out with a lad from Canada who lives out here, he is what is known as a "day student" (someone who comes to school form their home every morning, rather that living on campus) Him and his family were extremely kind, and allowed my to stay with them for the first week and abit, of the holidays before my parents arrived. We wen tot parties, went swimming,  and just basicly had fun, relaxing from the hard work of the first term, adjusting to the work load.

And then.

They were here, Well, after a 24 hour delay due to the areoplane being broken, and grounded in Luton.  I caught a bus up to The airport in the NW of the country, to meet them at the arrivals gate,   it was a very speacial moment i must say. And yes, If you must know...  I blubbed.  :P

The next 2 weeks I spent with them FLEW by,  it felt like 3 days, not 13.  We had such an amazing time, travelling, relaxing, swimming,  going on a Catamaran cruise, and snorkelling. Visiting an active volcanoe, going to a spa and swimming in the hot springs, and putting the volcanic mud all obver us! It was phemominal. The best 2 week holiday of my life. I will post pictures, as I own no words, capable of describing our time together.

But then they went..  :(   A very teary separation at the airport again, as I hopped on a plane for San Jose, and they, one  bound for Gatwick.  And that was it,  another 4 and a half months untill i see them again!

Which is fine, really,  because as soon as everyone arrived back on campus,  it was great. To be back with  everyone again, it was like we had never left. The next day lessons started,  and the routine has already made 3 weeks feel like one, so im sure that this term is gonna race past. Which is great, in one sense. But.  Very, Very, Very sad in another,  as we will no longer have out second years,   some of the most amazing, and intelligent people, I have ever met. I am sure i am going to cry my eyes out when the time comes to see them go.  I am not looking forward to it one bit.

The Lesson changes have worked a treat, Maths has come on leaps and bounds since the switch,  I am now getting top marks in all the IA's  (internall assesments, Fancy  name for a quiz eh?  :P) And I was interviewed by the French teacher, for him to assess my ability,  and was told that I would almost certainly gain a 6 or 7 (the highest marks you can get in an IB subject) in Standard level, and a 5 in Higher.
The switch from HL Physics into SL has racked my grades up even further,   as it is slower paced than that of HL. Meaning I am able to understand alot more.

BRING ON THE REST OF THE TERM!!!  :D

Anyway, like i said,    the next post to come in a week or so,  depends on what happens between now and then  :)

I will attempt to upload several posts worth of pictures, from before the break, and during,  as the internet has final been improved.

Heres to a fresh start!  :)
